In early July 2015, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of PRC set up 4 institutes for judicial studies on the Belt and Road Initiative in collaboration with 4 academic institutions, i.e. Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law, China Academy of Social Sciences and SHUPL. The SPC-SHUPL institute's main task is to assist the SPC to do researches on the major legal problems in practice and provide SPC with proposed text of judicial interpretations to be issued by SPC and applied nation-wide.
