From 10 to 19 December, Prof. Ge Weihua, Chancellor of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (hereinafter, SHUPL), led a delegation of SHUPL to the United Arab Emirates, Italy, and Malta. Xia Ganlin, Deputy Dean of the School of Languages and Cultures (School of International communication and Exchange), Liu Xian, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Shi Jianping, Deputy Dean of the School of International Law accompanied Chancellor Ge.
In the United Arab Emirates, the delegation visited the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (hereinafter, BITS), Dubai Campus, held talks with Prof. Srinivasan Madapusi, Director of BITS, Dubai Campus. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the implementation of cooperation projects, and signed the Memorandum of Understanding successfully.
In Malta, the delegation visited the Malta Education Foundation, held talks with Mr. Evarist Bartolo, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, former Minister of Education and Employment of Malta, and Mr. Francesco Cappe, Director of the GY Center for Higher Education of Malta, reviewed the history of friendly cooperation between the two sides and exchanged views on deepening cooperation.
In Italy, the delegation visited the University of Palermo and held talks with Professor Fabio Mazzola, Vice-Rector for Education and International Affairs, and Professor Armando Plaia, Dean of the Faculty of Law. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on future cooperation.
This visit enhanced the international visibility and global academic influence of SHUPL, also expanded the cooperation between SHUPL and internationally renowned universities.
